Scrase Bridge Stream, West Common Stream
The Scrasebridge and West Common Streams is high and rising. More than half a month's rain (36mm) has been recorded at Haywards Heath on Monday morning. From 12:00 (06/05/2024) flooding could affect a small number of commercial properties on Bridge Road and residential properties on West Common Road. Flooding could affect properties near the Witch Inn, along Hickmans Lane and Blackthorns. Odd properties from 29 to 47 on Meadow Drive could be affected by flooding. Rain should clear on Monday afternoon, with high pressure forecast, bringing settled and dry weather from Tuesday (07/05/2024). The river should begin to fall by 13:00 (06/05/2024) and should return to normal by 21:00 (06/05/2024). If you see a blockage affecting the flow in the river on Bridge Road or Hickmans Lane, please call our incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60. We are clearing debris from grilles through Lindfield, including the Builders Centre and Witch Inn, to help keep the river flowing freely and reduce flood risk. We will update this message by 21:00 on 06/05/2024.
